Snoop Dogg (previously Snoop Doggy Dogg) is, believe it or not, named after Snoopy, a nickname his mother gave him and which he found to be cooler than the Cordozar Calvin Broadus, Jr. on his birth certificate.
Why is so much of rap, especially the kind that Snoop Dogg records, so violent, msyogynistic and in praise of anything gangsta – ‘Yo, we is gangstas, we likes to shoot niggers and make bitches our sex slaves!’ ‘
Or in other words, ‘we’re too dumb an unimaginative to do anything better with our lives then wave guns around and we’re afraid of women so we have to put them down to feel better about ourselves.’
At least Snoop actually knew what he was talking about when it came to drug dealing, jail time and guns, unlike some of the rappers who only played the image to make money.
