Lily Allen is a singer with a sense of humour; an original free spirit who had the imagination to ask if God ‘ever feels suicidal?’

Her other songs focus on all the rest of the shit she sees going wrong with the world and she attacks with savage wit and accomplished rhymes. Here’s her take on drugs in the music business:

In a philosophical mood

Britney’s Twitter account isn’t a feed of her daily thoughts (doubtlessly very deep) or activities, it’s just a promotional feed from her promotion team doing their best to keep the celebrity fuel burning and Twitter would seem to be the way to do that. Snoop Dogg (previously Snoop Doggy Dogg) is, believe it or not, named after Snoopy, a nickname his mother gave him and which he found to be cooler than the Cordozar Calvin Broadus, Jr. on his birth certificate.

Why is so much of rap, especially the kind that Snoop Dogg records, so violent, msyogynistic and in praise of anything gangsta – ‘Yo, we is gangstas, we likes to shoot niggers and make bitches our sex slaves!’ ‘

Or in other words, ‘we’re too dumb an unimaginative to do anything better with our lives then wave guns around and we’re afraid of women so we have to put them down to feel better about ourselves.’

At least Snoop actually knew what he was talking about when it came to drug dealing, jail time and guns, unlike some of the rappers who only played the image to make money.
