Robin Williams was once known as one of the funniest men in America for his mile-a-minute stand up act and ability to ad lib with such energy and wit that it seemed as though you were watching him in fast-forward.

Then people realised that if you took enough cocaine just about anyone could ramble on at such a pace.

Williams could harness his nervous energy however into comedy sitcoms like Mork and Mindy and to great effect in Good Morning Vietnam. Since then he’s made his move into dramatic acting and it’s a fair bet that any film he appears in will be mawkish trite pinning all hopes for the film’s success on Williams’ supposed magnetic charm.

It might have worked for an audience as superficial as that of the 80’s, the golden years of Robin Williams’ career but nowadays it’s just a bit embarrassing.

Robin Williams’ Twitter feed is a bit poor though with only 2 updates at time of writing. Given his style one would have imagined he’d be tweeting all hours of the day and night.

Yo, you’ve got to pray to make it today.

MC Hanmmer, the clean-cut rapper made $33 million from Please Hammer Don’t Hurt ‘em but ended up $13 million in debt and had to file for bankruptcy in 1996. How is that possible? Well, he had a taste for spending, such as when he spent $2 million on Italian marble floors for his house.

Actress Elizabeth Banks was born Elizabeth Mitchell in Pittsfield, a small city in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts near the New York border, on February 10, 1974. She describes herself as having been seen as a “goody two-shoes” in her youth who was nominated to be the local Harvest Queen.

Banks left home to attend college at the University of Pennsylvania, from which she graduated Magna cum Laude, and went on to attend the Advanced Training Program at the prestigious American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, from which she graduated in 1998. She then moved to New York and worked in the theater as well as obtaining her first roles on-screen, small parts in movies and guest-star roles on television series. Seeking more screen work, Banks moved to Los Angeles and the supporting roles soon came, and required that she change her name to avoid confusion with another actress named Elizabeth Mitchell who had already established herself. Her first signal success came in her delightful, brief performance in Spider-Man (2002), for which she is best known despite subsequent leading roles, as “Betty Brant”, the secretary of the cantankerous newspaper tycoon. (Banks has reprised the role in the Spider-Man series.)

Who on earth would have believed that Barack Hussein Obama, a man with a Muslim middle name would ever become president of the US? Man, we could have got amazing odds from any bookmaker a couple of years ago…

Barack Obama became president in part due to his understanding of modern technology and Obama’s Twitter feed scored around 470,000 followers. He had some great advisors who made sure that he appealed to the new net generation and their focus on internet campaigning probably won Barack Obama the election,

Although there have been a couple of Tweets since then, it would seem Barack Obama’s Twitter feed is dead or at least, semi-retired until he next needs to run for election.
