What's my twitter feed for?

Essentially Twitter would seem to be a pretty banal service of people sending sms messages to a common inbox.

I’m in the mood for ice cream

or

I might go out in a bit

Hardly the kind of news feed that’s going to rock your world.

But there are all kinds of Twitter feeds.

- You can follow what your friends are up to without having to go to their facebook page or send them an email.

- Twitter can be used as an RSS feed, listing recent articles for a news source or website.

- Twitter can be a source of immediate reportage as when breaking news from the Mumbai bomb blasts was updated via Twitter Tweets.

- Twitter could be an alternative to blogging, writing short insights, quotes, jokes and links to cool info on the web.

- Or maybe someone will work out how to write a soap opera or interactive game via Twitter.

It’s up to your imagination, Twitter is still wide open.
